About

A BOUTIQUE FINN JUHL HOTEL

The combination of inspiring, Danish interior, the Japanese nature and organic, local products

The Finn Juhl hotel in Hakuba is the first of its kind. It has been our mission to create a hotel where Danish interior design constitutes the foundation of a truly unique hotel experience in Japan.

The small town of Hakuba, located in a valley surrounded by the Japanese alps, houses a lodge, that has now been transformed into a beautiful Danish/Japanese design hotel.

The hotel is decorated entirely with Finn Juhl furniture and offers a quality experience in the midst of beautiful surroundings and breathtaking nature. Everywhere the hotel exudes a sense of downplayed elegance - from the soft bedlinen and organic toiletries to the cosy lighting.

The hotel consists of 6 double-rooms, a dining hall and several shared lounge areas and an accompanying bar.

WHAT IS THE STORY OF HOUSE OF FINN JUHL?

In 1998, Finn Juhl’s widow, Hanne Wilhelm Hansen, granted Onecollection the rights to produce Finn Juhl's furniture. Since then, Onecollection has helped protect and carry on the legacy of Finn Juhl, and the furniture is sold all over the world today.

Onecollection already has a strong affiliation with Japan, as part of the Finn Juhl range is produced here. The production of Finn Juhl furniture is thus split between the Danish workshops and the Japanese workshop.

However, the vision for the Finn Juhl work has been even bigger from the onset. That is why stores with an explicit focus on displaying and selling Finn Juhl has opened around the world in recent years. These stores are called House of Finn Juhl. Through House of Finn Juhl we are able to offer people a fully-fledged Finn Juhl experience. Finn Juhl did not just design furniture, he designed entire interiors.

Therefore, we are excited to announce, that we are expanding the Finn Juhl portfolio by opening the first

Hotel House of Finn Juhl.

Below, you will be introduce to the local area of Hakuba, where our hotel is situated.

HAKUBA

Located just three hours from Tokyo, in the northern part of the Japanese alps you will find Hakuba. A place famous for offering some of the best ski experiences in all of Asia.

THE SKI AREA

In 1998 during the Winter Olympics the area hosted a range of disciplines such as downhill, ski jump and cross country. Furthermore, Hakuba is well-known for its exquisite powder snow and slopes suited to every level of skier. The lift system is effective and you will rarely experience lines or long wait times. During winter season the area gets 9 centimeters of snow a day on average.

An All Hakuba Mountain Lift Pass, will grant you unlimited access to all lifts and slopes in the area.

RESTAURANTS & NIGHTLIFE

Hakuba houses a lot of restaurants as well as a vibrant nightlife. Most places offer menus in English, as Hakuba is a favored destination for Australians who travel here in order to ski. A wide range of restaurants can be found on the slopes as well.

HOT SPRINGS

Hakuba is famous for more than just being the ideal skiing destination, it is also well-renowned for the hot springs located in the area, called “Onsen” in Japanese. Hakuba is home to more than 200 hot springs, a large proportion of which are found in public bathhouses in walking distance of the hotel.
